🛠️ How It Works 🕹️
A disc is typically made up of four layers. A bottom protective layer (A), The shiny data layer (B), A lacquer layer (C), which protects the other side (and helps reflect light back to the laser) and the label (D). When discs become unreadable it is usually due to scratches on the bottom protective layer, causing the laser to misdirect and misread information. The disc repair process buff outs these scratches and imperfections, helping the laser to read the disc correctly again.
