Description
Sony PlayStation (Often referred to as the PS1 or PSX) was Sony’s first foray into the gaming console market, launching a new era of 3D gaming and multimedia entertainment. Its compact and minimalist design makes it a nostalgic centrepiece for retro gaming setups.
Media & Compatibility
The original PlayStation plays standard size PAL PlayStation 1 games, as well as audio CDs for music playback. Games are saved using proprietary PlayStation memory cards (memory cards sold separately).
Size & Dimensions
The original PlayStation measures approximately 27 cm x 19 cm x 5 cm (270 mm x 190 mm x 50 mm) and weighs around 1.5 kg, making it compact and easy to fit into any retro gaming setup.
Controllers
The PlayStation supports 2 controllers out of the box and is compatible with both the original Analogue controllers and the later DualShock controllers. Some multiplayer games support up to 4 players with the use of a “multitap” accessory (sold separately). This console comes with one Official Sony Analogue Controller.
TV Connection
This console connects to your TV via an RFU cable, allowing you to tune into Channel 36 for display. This was the standard connection method for many older TVs in the UK. If your TV lacks an RF input, alternative connection options (such as AV or HDMI converters) may be required.
